During the month of March, students will have an "eggciting" opportunity to support Crosswell Charities. Every morning throughout the week of March 24th - 27th, students may pay $1.00 and choose a prize egg from the basket. Prizes include stickers, candy, cups, pencils, markers, stuffed animals and more.
Help us support Crosswell Charities and win some "eggcellent" prizes at the same time.
Fifth grade students across the district recently competed in a JetToy Design Competition. The students are “hired” by EarthToy Designs, Inc. to develop and promote toys that children can build using recycled or recyclable materials. The JetToys are made from inexpensive common materials like balloons, poster board, and drinking straws. The JetToys have four performance task to complete:
- Distance, travel the farthest distance possible.
- Weight, be able to carry a heavy load (9 pennies) for the farthest distance possible.
- Time, travel for an extended period of time.
- Accuracy, be able to travel a specific distance.
Crosswell Elementary 5th graders teamed up and went to work designing their own JetToy cars. Class winners competed against other elementary school finalists at the district JetToy competition on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at the Pickens County Career and Technology Center. One of Crosswell’s teams, The Wan Squad, finished 2nd place and will go on to compete again this Friday in hopes of competing on the national level in Detroit, Michigan. Congratulations to all teams for their great effort and creativity designing great cars.

Message shared by Dr. Kelly Pew, Superintendent of the School District of Pickens County:
"The following days will be used as snow make-up days for the days we have lost:
Monday, April 21, 2014
Friday, May 23, 2014
Friday, June 6, 2014
As of today, we have missed six days because of inclement weather. We will make up the three days built into our calendar and use three of the five forgiven days for the other days (if approved). We will bank the other two days in case we have additional snow days."
